Prepare for your visit

Prepare for your ultrasound visit

Easy Steps Checklist:

1) Schedule an ultrasound visit and submit the patient information form.

2) Pet owner should complete the release for ultrasound, sedation and FNA form.

Patients should be fasted about 12 hours prior to their ultrasound, unless they are diabetic.

3) Pre-hospital medication is highly recommended - Gabapentin and Trazodone

See common questions for further information.

4) Shave the patient in the area being scanned prior to our arrival. This helps with speed and efficiency.

This is also a great test for the need for sedation. If the patient does not tolerate shaving, they likely will not tolerate an ultrasound without light sedation.

5) Brief technical assistance will be needed during the scan.

6) Retrieve your report the next day for routine or less than 6 hours for stat. This will be sent to the hospital's email address provided on the patient information form, unless otherwise indicated. Also, reports and images will be available online at YourViewDr.com if an account was set up.
